Your Role As A Parent
At Kelowna Early Explorers Academy, we believe parents are essential partners in their child’s early learning journey. Your involvement not only strengthens our program but also supports your child’s confidence, development, and sense of belonging.
Here are just a few ways you can get involved:
Visit the centre and spend time with us.
Volunteer in the classroom or during field trips.
Read a story or sing songs with the children.
Share materials for arts and crafts.
Introduce the children to a piece of your culture through food, stories, music, dance, or language.
Help support fundraising events.
You can continue activities at home that your child enjoys at the centre.
Celebrate your child’s birthday with us by bringing a cake or treat.
Attend special events such as family dinners, our Stampede Breakfast, holiday celebrations, and teas.
Join parent meetings and stay involved in centre-wide conversations.
Research shows that when parents engage positively in their child’s early learning experiences, it boosts self-esteem and helps reduce behavioural challenges both at home and in the centre.
To keep you informed:
Monthly calendars will highlight upcoming events and activities.
Quarterly newsletters provide updates and centre news.
Each room has a Parent Information Board that displays weekly plans, menus, field trip information, and reminders.
Every year, we invite you to complete a survey to help us assess and improve our programs, facilities, nutrition, and overall care. Your feedback is valued and helps us provide the best possible environment for your child.
Our staff and director strive to maintain open, daily communication with families. We welcome your thoughts, expectations, and any concerns you may wish to share. Collaboration and transparency between parents and educators are key to a successful experience at Kelowna Early Explorers Academy.
